 Rev. Fr. (Dr) WenceMadu  CMF:

Rev Fr WenceMaduPh.D became the second Substantive Rector of the Polytechnic after it was renamed Imo State Polytechnic. He was appointed Rector of the polytechnic in November 2011 by the Imo State Governor, OwelleRochasOkorocha.

Rev Fr WenceMadu brings to Imo State Polytechnic an impressive background as an internationally respected authority on the impact of education development and the economics of higher education.

Outside being the Rector of Imo State Polytechnic, Rev Fr WenceMadu has woked in the following capacity: Assistant Lecturer in Christian Life, Claretian Institute of Philosophy Nekede (1987-1990); Economo of the Claretian Institute of Philosophy, Nekede (1987 – 1990) and of the Claretian Province of Nigeria 1989-1990); Member Imo State Education management Board: Teachers Disciplinary Committee (TDC) 1988-1990; Lecturer, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, 1991-1995); Member Archdiocese of Owerri Youth Council, 1992-1993; Project Director, EUCARE Farms, Agbala (1997- 1998); Major Superior of Claretian Missionaries of Nigeria (1999- 2005); Member Board of Consultors Archdiocese of Owerri 2002-present; Member Presbyteral Council Archdiocese of Owerri, 2002-2006; President, Conference of Major Superiors of Nigeria (2002 – 2006); President Inter-provincial Conference of Claretian Major Superiors of Africa, (ACLA) (2002 – 2006); Executive Member, Conference of Major Superiors of Africa and Madagascar (2003- 2005); Member, Clergy Committee of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (2007- 2012);

Rev Fr WenceMadu brings to Imo State Polytechnic a distinguished record of research and teaching and an impressive career as a transformational education administrator. Since inception of office as the Rector of the Polytechnic, Fr Madu has attracted so many developmental projects to the institution. Among other things is the erection of new classroom blocks, staff offices and new administrative offices at the polytechnic. Fr Madu through his innovative measures has transformed the polytechnic to the best ICT driven Polytechnic East of the Niger. His staff development project is second to non. Through the help of educational trust fund (ETF), Fr Madu has facilitated the training of several staff of the polytechnic.

A native of OroriUmundugba in Orlu LGA of Imo state, Rev. Fr. Dr WenceMadu, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, a Master of Science Degree in biochemistry from NnamdiAzikiwe University Awka, a Master of Science Degree in Soil Science from Texas, USA. He also holds a Doctorate Degree in Biochemistry from Abia State University Uturu.
