ND Entry Requirements.
The entry requirement for national diploma (ND) includes:
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O’Level or NECO with at least 5 credits at one sitting, which must include:
English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following:
Economics/Commerce, , Business Methods/Business Studies/Business Management, Accounts/ Book Keeping,
Literature in English, Typewriting, Shorthand, Statistics, Geography, History/Government/Civic Education,
Biology/Agricultural Science/General Agriculture, Office Practice, Insurance/Marketing,
Computer Study/Data Processing, Physics, Chemistry.
OR:
NABTEB: With at least 5 credits at one sitting, which must include: Mathematics & English
Language and any three from the following:
(a). GENERAL EDUCATION COMPONENT( TWO Subjects from the following)
Economics/ Commerce, Physics/ Chemistry, Government, Lit. in English, Social Studies and Biology
(b). TRADE COMPONENT/TRADE RELATED COMPONENTS( ONE Subject from the
following)
Principles of Accounts, Social Studies, Office Practice, Information Communication Technology.
HND Entry Requirement
The entry requirement for higher national diploma (HND) in the school of business:
1. Candidates are required to posses at least (5) O’Level credits in English Language,
Mathematics and any other three relevant subjects.
2. National Diploma, with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant course, obtained
from Imo State Polytechnic, Owerri or an equivalent institution accredited by the National
Board for Technical Education.
3. Evidence of a minimum of one (1) year post-ND cognate work experience.
In exceptional cases, ND diplomats with a pass (CGPA of 2.00-2.49)
and industrial experience of not less than two (2) years in the specific field may be
considered for admission into the HND programme.
