School of Environmental Design and Management Technology

OVERVIEW

School of Environmental Design and Management Technology in Imo State Polytechnic focuses on the belief that the core of the health of the Public is the primary prevention of disease. Our main mission is to contribute to the safeguarding, maintenance and improvement of the health of all people and also our environment through global leadership in training and research in environmental Science.
We also employ the Faculty’s manpower for resolving the environmental issues and problems in Nigeria, maximizing work, fostering policies local, international and national. These results in the constructive activities that enhances, improve and set up professionals to carry out the mandate of the School which is to create an improved environment for man. Furthermore we also provide set of diploma courses in Environmental Science, and also providing our students with ample opportunities to develop contemporary skills and knowledge, and to be innovative in their chosen discipline.

ND ENTRY REQUIREMENT
The entry requirement for national diploma (ND) in the school of environmental technology includes SSCE or WASCE or GCE O’level or NECO with at least five credits at two sittings which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two of the following: Economics/Commerce, Further Mathematics Woodwork, Religious Knowledge, Metal Work, Technical Drawing/Fine Art/Visual Arts, Biology/Agricultural Science/General Agric, Chemistry, Geography, and Building Construction. A Pass in Fine Art/Visual Arts/Technical Drawing will be an advantage.

HND ENTRY REQUIREMNETS
1. Candidates must possess a national diploma (ND) in relevant courses from Imo State polytechnic or any other accredited polytechnic with a CGPA of 2.50.
2. SSCE or WASCE or GCE O’level or NECO with at least five credits at two sittings which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two of the following: Economics/Commerce, Further Mathematics Woodwork, Religious Knowledge, Metal Work, Technical Drawing/Fine Art/Visual Arts, Biology/Agricultural Science/General Agric, Chemistry, Geography, and Building Construction. A Pass in Fine Art/Visual Arts/Technical Drawing will be an advantage.
3. Evidence of a minimum of one (1) year post-ND cognate work experience. In exceptional cases, ND diplomats with a pass (CGPA of 2.00-2.49) and industrial experience of not less than two (2) years in the specific field may be considered for admission into the HND programme.
